1969 – Rock group The Band released their second self-titled studio album on this day September 22 which later became known as ‘The Brown Album’. It peaked at No.9 on the Billboard 200.
1973 – The number one album in the United Kingdom on this day September 22 in music history was ‘Goat’s Head Soup’ by The Rolling Stones.
1973 – After a one week break from the top spot, Marvin Gaye returned to No.1 on the US Billboard Hot 100 with ‘Let’s Get It On’.
