On this day September 7 in 1957 – Elvis Presley was at number one in the UK with his first soundtrack album ‘Loving You’. It was also a chart-topper in the US where it spent 10 weeks at No.1
1957 – Sam Cooke released his debut single ‘You Send Me’ on Keen Records. It became a big hit and it topped both the Billboard R&B and Pop charts.
1965 – The Rolling Stones finished recording ‘Get Off of My Cloud’ on this day September 7. The song was released two-weeks later and it became a chart-topper in Canada, Germany, South Africa, the US, and the UK.
