1968 – Pink Floyd released their second studio album ‘A Saucerful of Secrets’ on this day June 28 in music history. It peaked at No.9 in the UK and it is the first album with guitarist David Gilmour and the last to feature founding member Syd Barrett whose mental health deteriorated during the recording.

He was the first person to win all four major awards in America – Emmy, Grammy, Oscar & Tony (EGOT). On top of that he also has a Pulitzer Prize to his name.

1936 – American pop singer Catherine Cordovano also known professionally as Cathy Carr was born on this day in The Bronx, New York.

1945 – British bass guitarist David Knights was born on this day June 28 in London. He rose to fame as a founding member of the rock band Procol Harum.

1952 – Rock and jazz pianist and composer Alan Pasqua was born on this day in Roselle Park, New Jersey. He has collaborated with the likes of Joe Walsh, Bob Dylan, John Fogerty, Santana, Cher, etc.
