1963 – Billy J. Kramer with The Dakotas went to number one in the UK with the Lennon-McCartney penned song ‘Bad to Me’.
1964 – With ‘Where Did Our Love Go’, The Supremes topped the US Billboard Hot 100 chart on this day August 22. The song became a chart-topper in Canada and New Zealand as well.
1969 – Latin rock band Santana released their self-titled debut studio album through Columbia Records. The LP peaked at No.4 on the Billboard 200 chart.
