These 10 Bands have the Most No.1 Singles in the US
In this article, we will take a look at the most successful bands in Billboard Hot 100 history – those rare groups who not only topped the charts, but did so multiple times. Scoring a No.1 hit is no easy feat, and these bands managed to do it over and over again, sometimes across decades and stylistic shifts.
And since the era of bands seems to have ended in the 1990s, it may take a while before these records get beaten. Will there be a band revival era? We certainly hope so.
Obviously, there are plenty of great groups with two, three, or even four chart-toppers, but in this post, we’re focusing on elite company – the bands that have scored five or more No.1 singles in the US.

Final Thoughts
While today’s charts are dominated by solo artists and hip-hop collaborations, these vocal groups and bands proved that musical chemistry can translate into massive commercial success. From Motown magic and British invasions to disco grooves and K-pop surge, these groups left an undeniable mark on the Billboard charts.
However, with bands fading from the spotlight in recent decades, the question remains whether anyone will ever challenge not only the record set by The Beatles, but any of the groups named on this list.
But if music has taught us anything, it’s to expect the unexpected. Maybe the next chart-dominating band is just one viral song away.
