On this day June 10 in 1934 – English composer Frederick “Fritz” Delius died at the age of 72.

1967 – With their eighth studio album Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band’The Beatles reached No.1 in the UK for the first of incredible twenty-three consecutive weeks. The album topped every chart it entered that year.

1970 – American organist, pianist, and vocalist Earl Grant died on this day June 10 in music history at the age of 39 in a car accident.

1972 – The Rolling Stones topped the UK Albums chart with ‘Exile on Main St.’. The album also reached No.1 in the US, Canada, Netherlands, Norway, and Spain. In 2010 the record was re-issued and it became a chart-topper once again on May 29.
